BYU football's best years came when their coaching staff was getting raided each year. Andy Reid, Mike Holmgren, Mike Leach, Norm Chow, and more were all part of the special sauce at BYU—and having them go elsewhere and still tear things up was great for the BYU brand.

When Dave Rice left BYU for the UNLV head coaching job, I wanted him to succeed; it would have been great for Rose to have a little bit of a coaching tree.

If other schools don't want our guys (head coaches or assistants) it means our guys aren't very good.
