This seems a set-up just like MBB. UCLA, essentially the 17th seed. Saw a video where a VB commentator was saying UCLA was the best unseeded team to keep an eye on. Lots of talent—beat a number of seeded teams from the PAC (UT, WASH, etc.)—but was hot and cold during the season. Sound familiar?

Now, do you think UCLA is going to be “hot or cold” for the Tourney?

Maybe BYU will surprise me. With no non-conference games, hard to judge. Now, Pepperdine and USD won their first games yesterday (and I saw P took Baylor to 5 games today) and the WCC provides good competition. And BYU has been improving through the season (a usual mark of Coach O). But I don’t think this team is elite. Good, but not top 10. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us get get swept. Hope I’m wrong (a frequent occurrence).
