Boise 1,600 sqft home for over $500,000. It was close to downtown area. They went and purchased a new home out in Nampa by Lake Lowell which if your from the area, Nampa is pretty trashy. They live in a really nice neighborhood new home. Everyone of their new neighbors is from California Im not evening kidding you.
It’s a great city but it’s getting really liberal. They shut down a coffee shop by the campus because it had a blue lives matter flag and gave free coffee to police. School fought it and protested it and got it shot down. Super sad because it it a fun town.
As for jobs they have Micron and Simplot there. Not much else. Brother in law bought a home in Meridian 4 years ago and got it for around $250,000, 2,500 sqft pretty nice home. They refinanced last year and it appraised for over $450,000. He works in downtown and makes around $60k. They got lucky cause they couldn’t afford a home now. Same issue all their neighbors are from Cali.
My parents live in Pocatello and the housing is even crazy there. Idaho may be worse than Utah just due to the lack of jobs in the state.
