Ok, so little flies are bugging my HCBW, which seem to be coming from under the cabinet under the sink. That cabinet floor board is pretty old and obviously water damaged, so I figured I'd just replace it.... YIKES!!!!

So I start to pull up that cabinet floor board, and what I find is that the whole space under the board (between the real floor and that cabinet bottom board) is completely full of RICE ... like pounds and pounds of rice. 21 inches by 36 inches by 6 inches of RICE.

SOOOOOO ... did the previous owner do that? And WHY?

Is it somehow supposed to help absorb moisture?

I really really want to tell my HCBW that it was the previous owner ..... for some rational reason ... cause if it's a mouse that hauled POUNDS of rice there, she will probably never set foot in that kitchen again, and we are going to have to move!!!!
