Can you get to the shower control from the other side of the wall? Might be
a lot easier than replacing the shower surround. I should give the contractor credit that he would have thought about this, but I have to ask.
Also, there are probably folks in your ward that would love to help. I just helped someone install a dishwasher, and everybody helps each other with water heaters it seems. It might not be fun work, but maybe it’ll be more fun with someone else there? 🙂
