That doesn’t explain why they were allowed by western society to bury it?
I’m sure the Germans would’ve loved to be left to their own devices on covering things up. And the western sense of accountability and justice exacted in the west suggests there would be added outrage and demands for justice in the East. Yet why wasn’t there that demand?

Why do we pay more attention to the damages inflicted on Europe than the damages that ravaged the South Pacific?

Why does the west not really care about that part of the world?

We can’t put the blame on Japan for the lack of western interest in justice in that part of the world.
