That is actually the part that makes the most sense from this whole story. Lithium batteries are notoriously hard to ex
extinguish when they catch fire. Fires in electric cars are really hard to put out because of the chemistry as well as the sheer mass of battery that there is. It's pretty common for them to take 24 hours to put out.
