With Bale, it seemed Bruce Wayne was the alter ego that he only occasionally
slipped into costume for, and only when it was really, really needed. They also turned Bruce into a playboy, which is not how he’d ever been depicted previously.
I feel they got the Batman character right with Bale, but completely neglected Bruce.
