... I like the zip he gets on the ball, but what I barely saw was the ability to get loft and distance so his WR's could run deeper routes and get under the catch zone. Not every good throw is a frozen rope of 20-30 yards. I do think he has so talent and can develop physically. Such a huge part of the QB game is his ability to mentally digest the action on every play and make correct read and reaction decisions. There is nothing in this Highlight Reel to suggest he is a game player and when we are talking IDAHO, not Georgia, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania or California, were not looking at a player who has ever been seriously tested on the field. My biggest knock on all the Riley Nelson fans was their lack of understanding of how little his HS yards and accomplishments meant in bigger circles because of where he played HS ball. I actually believe had Nelson played HS ball in say Los Angeles or even Las Vegas, he might never have received a Division 1 offer. Mechanically he simply was not that talented.
