I have family in the area. It's a growing area with most of the stores/restaurants/amenities you'd like but still has

small town feel and has you in rural Idaho ten minutes in any direction. Doesn't have the mountains close by that you have in East Idaho, but skiing is close by at Pomerelle and the Snake River Gorge is absolutely stunning the first time you see it. Newer areas near the temple are beautiful and feel like Utah without all the Mormons. 😉

I live in SE Idaho but would move there if the need/opportunity arose.
