Is this just because the season was shortened to 72 games or a permanent rule
going forward? I understand expanding it a bit as it is kind of saying that with 82 games, the 9 or 10 seed could have made the playoffs as a 7 or 8 (if they played the additional 10 games).
Not sure how I feel if it is a permanent change when 82 games are played. I do like that more teams will play hard at the end of the season.
