I think they may be looking at schedules, but more than anything they're looking for a chance to play on a team that they've been convinced will utilize their skills and help them develop into a better player. And they want to play for a coach they believe in making that happen.
Sure - I think there are elements of where you play, bowl games, etc. But especially with the expanded playoff, I don't think it would be hard to convince a recruit that BYU now has an entry point to actually playing for the national championship.
