So the BOT wanting the ESPN product line to continue would not be an issue. I suspect the more likely issue is integrating BYU's 3rd tier rights so that it can continue to exploit the media value of iits athletic programs in that genre. I also think that is an area where the big 12 has shown itself to be far more flexible than any other P5 conference. Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Baylor ALL have special 3rd tier carve-outs. Accommodating BYU that has an extremely close lineage to ESPN and the School of Broadcasting is a little tricky for competing programs that have no where near the facility or capabilities that BYUtv has. BYU is platformed all over the world via the NET and even international Cable Systems worldwide. On the other hand, what I just wrote is a huge reason the Big 12 should invite BYU because its an amazing window into any program that schedules BYU...i.e. enormous exposure that other P5 conferences do not really have.
