Here’s my list of the top-10 greatest (non-gameplay-related) innovations that did the most to enhance the gameday experience.
1. Score bug
• How the heck did people ever view broadcasts without any score and game clock information???
• We put a man on the moon in 1969 but couldn’t come up with the score bug until, like, 1998???
2. HD TV
3. Jerseys that actually fit
• This is probably a bit high, but I have hard time watching games where the players are swimming in their jerseys.
4. Replay review
5. Crowds figuring out it might actually be a good idea to, you know, wear their team’s color to the game
