Home way after curfew. I thought I had a good excuse. My dad didn’t. He grounded me and told me to brush my teeth and go to bed.

No idea why he told me to brush my teeth because at that point in my life he wasn’t monitoring such things. For some reason my 13 year old brain decided this was where I would take my stand. I told him I’d go to bed but I wasn’t going to brush my teeth.

I tried to push past him down the hallway and he put me into the wall leaving a Mormon thug shaped dent in the drywall.

I know he felt bad but I deserved it. He helped me fix my dent a few days later.

Kids are dumb. Sometimes they need a good knock upside the head (figuratively of course).

Kids are also learning and growing. Nobody punishes me when I have a bad day. I try to give my kids a little slack to have a bad day. Sometimes we have bad days together and it gets explosive. It’s part of the parenting process I think.
