Earlier today, Kyrgyzstan lost to Japan, and were officially eliminated from the World Cup when Tajikistan beat Myanmar to pip them into 2nd place. Tajikistan join Lebanon as 2nd-place finishers who are awaiting other results to see if they will advance to the next round of qualifying (only the top 5 second-place finishers advance).
Oman will be one of the top five second-place finishers, so they advance to the next round of qualifying. They have yet to play their last match, but their place was secured after India drew with Afghanistan. It's complicated, but that India/Afghanistan draw assured that Bangladesh finished last in their group. They don't count matches against the last-place team in the groups in determining the best second-place finishers. If Afghanistan were to drop to last place behind Bangladesh, Oman would've been in a tougher situation. But as it happened, Oman will keep playing.
All these results have eliminated Kuwait from World Cup contention. Kuwait have yet to play their last match--and they could still take 2nd place in their group. But they cannot finish as one of the top five second-place finishers even if they do pip Jordan into 2nd place. Speaking of Jordan, they are playing Australia right now; a loss would see them eliminated, even if they still finished in 2nd place.
