I'm also not sure how much some of these players care about winning the next few games. I'm sure a lot of them view this more as a job - their livelihood - and less as their legacy (they'll never build statues for Conley or Clarkson in SLC, even if the Jazz win a title). It seems to me that there are a lot of factors that point toward many players in general (not necessarily any player in particular) having an "Oh, well, we tried. Better luck next year" attitude.
