Last year for the birth of his son. Lots of husbands miss that event due to bad timing. Lots of people paid a lot less miss important life events due to their job.

I think for 30 million one should be expected to play in each playoff game if you at all can. I mean performing in the playoffs is a big reason why you are getting paid 30 million.

He is physically limited and if pushed too hard could aggravate it and be out the rest of playoffs.

Yes - I get they may not advance without him. But at no point have they been behind in this series. I understand the Jazz resting him until he is absolutely needed.

I don't think if he actually felt like he could play without serious risk of making it worse that he would be sitting out.
