Division Bell Intervention Needed
RE: Were those commercial or private planes?
Kitchen: private plane. Moose/elk spotting (IIRC). Early snow storm came through in late Fall... plane was missing for a few weeks I think (I was in 9th grade and the details are fuzzy). He had died on impact. Was cut in half. I can't remember if his wife was with him or not, but I get the sense that she was. Their son was on my FB team.

Scott: commercial pilot, small commercial cargo plane. Made fuel stop (in Vegas?). Storm had arrived. Ground crew refueled, but also had covered some of the sensors to keep them safe from the weather while refueling. Scott was unaware of it and took off as soon as the fuel was filled... the coverings on the sensors were discovered too late and he was flying blind in a storm. Crashed. Left wife and several small children behind. Note: Scott's dad was also a commercial pilot, flying big birds for a major airline. I'm going from memory, but I think Scott crashed on a Wednesday or Thursday. We had just had a monthly neighborhood party with Scott and his spouse the weekend before. It was surreal.

Rob: Instructor, volunteered to help a guy who bought a plane qualify (get enough hours in that particular model of plane) to be able to take it back to his home state. Freak storm rolled in (about this time of year). Severe wind sheer hit their plane and drove it head first into the ground in a matter of a minute or so. Storm calmed shortly thereafter and the evening was beautiful weather again. Left wife and JrHS and HS aged kids behind. Rob had been in a plane crash just a few months before while up in Alaska doing construction.
