For rental properties? or your own house?
I could see its usefulness of remote monitoring for rental properties... but everything else can be done for free (plumbing checks) or much cheaper (leak detection).

I spent $10k this past week due to the main water line into my housebreaking. This type of device wouldn't have detected it. I'm not sure where the $699 price is justified.

I would guess ~$200 to have it installed for you.
