Those that know Lamb know that he loves long, athletic, cerebral, ball hawks on the back end of his defenses.
Looking at Alfrey and Wall's measurables -
Alfrey - 6'2 200 lbs Wingspan - 75 inches Arm length - 32 inches Broad Jump - 9'5" Vertical - 28.5
Wall - 6'2 195 lbs Wingspan - 77.5 inches Arm length - 33 inches Broad Jump - 9'11" Vertical - 32.5
Alfrey - 5-10-5 Shuttle - 4.34 40 time - 4.55
Wall - 5-10-5 Shuttle - 4.21 40 time - 4.6
Both played QB, WR, Safety, KR, PR, etc. in high school and are extremely comparable in size and athleticism. I think Alfrey is perfectly positioned at safety and I would move Wall there immediately given the depth at WR (although a lot of that depth could be gone by January).
Let me add another guy to the mix who was lightly criticized as a "Kalani era headscratcher" - Dean Jones.
Jones - 6'2 195 lbs 75.5 wingspan Arm Length - 33 inches Broad Jump - 9'2" Vertical - 28 40 time - 4.57
He's a scrappy, athletic, work horse like Alfrey and Wall. Look for 2/3 of these guys to be the back end of our defense by 2022-2023.
All 3 just greyshirted and enter together as freshmen.
