About 5 minutes into the game, there was an inbound play and this kid completely collapsed to the floor. I thought he was trying to draw a foul and flopped at 1st but then he started shaking a little bit and you could tell something was wrong.

The trainers on site and one of our team member's mom, who was a retired nurse, ran out on the floor. His heart had stopped and he wasn't breathing. It was absolutely one of the most surreal experiences I have ever been through. I was praying, the whole gym was praying. They started chest compressions and mouth to mouth. After about a minute still no pulse. By that time They had the defibrillator out and shocked him. After the 1st shock the defibrillator said there was still no heartbeat and to continue with CPR. After about 30 seconds the paramedics walked in and right then his heart started again before they even touched him. Straight up miraculous.

Absolutely crazy experience. This kid was a freshman this past year and It was considered one of the best football and basketball prospects in the state already.

It was one of those moments that brings things into perspective.
