It's going to build bigger bubbles that pop harder in the end, as companies then shed housing from their portfolio.
Japan had a huge real estate affordability problem in the late 80s and solved it by making it much easier to build new housing, combined with a stagnant population. Neither of those things are present in the U.S., so it seems NIMBYism and immigration are going to make this problem get significantly worse in the short term.
