I don't know the exact figures ...

but the 4% rule covers like 95% of all the historical scenarios. If you use a 3.5% withdrawal rate, it covers 99% of all historical scenarios. This includes all the recessions and depressions. So yeah, stuff happens and nothing is fool proof, but you plan for what you know and hope for the best.
