inferior competition and his numbers get inflated I can hear all these great things about how awesome his defense is. But in reality it's really that when they play good teams they are quickly exposed.
I ask my manager to do that same thing during performance reviews. Please don't rate me against the best employees. I ask that you rate me against the lower performers.
I think the best example is when they played MS St a couple years ago. That was a very bad SEC team that year yet they made BYU look silly. Mullen was on the radio and said they were surprised at how vanilla the defense was. Like H.S. level scheme. He said it took them a couple drives to figure it out and immediately expose it. Then coming out after the half they went right back to the exact same thing even though it wasn't working in the first half.
I know Mullen has BYU history with Urban and I'm sure he loved sticking it to them but honestly he was straight clowning on them at how bad it was.
