Did any of you CBers get super emotional when your first kid was on the way?
My wife and I have known she was pregnant since week 2, and we’re 14.5 weeks in now. I was semi-emotional when we found out, but ever since we found out it was a girl last week, I’ve been a tear machine. The dumbest things bring me to tears, as long as my brain has some way to connect it to my daughter. For example, I was in the gas station yesterday to get a drink before work, and the song “more than words” by extreme came on. I’ve always liked the song and it was one of the first I learned on the guitar, but I’ve never felt any emotion when listening to/playing/singing it, but in the gas station, I immediately pictured myself playing it for my daughter and broke down right there in front of the soda fountain. Other things, such as the primary singing “I’m so glad when daddy comes home” on Sunday, baby books about dads, etc. generate instant tears. Anyone else experience this? Or am I just a wimp?
