Nationals were in March, and they rolled straight in to high level track competition with no opportunity for a mental or physical break. They're just toast and were at a HUGE disadvantage in this race vs the pros who were rested and peaking for now. My sister (Summer Allen) said she would've been relieved to not make the final as she is just so tired. She said she had to psych herself up just to feel ok about even running in the final. Courtney is in the same boat according to her mom. Incredible performances considering the circumstances for both of them. Summer knows she could go at least 10 seconds faster under better circumstances, and I'm sure Courtney could go faster as well.
