I dont remember if it was 1978 or 1979. I grew up in So Cal and spent a lot of my time at skateboard parks. There was one that had bands about once a month on Friday nights.

They pulled up in some beater old van, got out and set themselves up and played for less than an hour. All I remember is Sting and his English accent, they said they were the Police and I remember them playing Roxanne.

There were maybe 50 people there.

I used to go see all the hair metal bands on weekends in the 80s at the local clubs before they made it big while I was in High School. That was a blast.
