Same with my experience remembering Spanish. I learned to speak Spanish pretty well on my mission. Then over the years I
lost the ability to converse in Spanish.
Several years ago I went to Colombia for work and was speaking Spanish 100-percent of the time. There were no English speakers.
After a week of Spanish immersion, My Spanish was probably back at the 6 month mission proficiency. It was fun to remember so quickly.
(I’ve regressed again since then)
