Due to cash and coin shortage, only cards accepted at this time
This was the sign at the Winco self checkout. It’s clear they only want you to pay with card (debit only at Winco) and they don’t want cash. It says nothing about cash back, so I got $60 cash back. No problems, nobody says a thing.
It makes no sense to me that if there is a cash shortage, then they won’t take it. But despite the cash shortage, you can still get you cash back. What am I missing?
