if a new vehicle is "in transit" don't claim it's in your inventory
There was once a time not long ago when a dealership's inventory = the car is sitting on the lot ready to be purchased / leased. Now, with a shortage of inventory, the definition of "inventory" is quite different. Example: Mark Miller Subaru (Southtowne) has 21 Subaru Outbacks. But then you notice on their site that there isn't a single picture of an actual car in inventory, just stock photos. Then you look at the fine print and it says "vehicle in transit." In other words, Mark Miller Subaru has exactly ZERO Outbacks in their current inventory, not 21. Several other dealerships / brands doing this too...this was just the most ridiculous example I could find.
