Who entered with a ton of promise but regressed in impact and performance. I think injuries were a big part of that and definitely affected his confidence, particularly in shooting and willingness to be the ‘guy.’
I Wish him success and better health.
But swapping Seneca for Connor is HUGE! Seneca is exactly what we were missing last year—and for that matter, every year at BYU. Seneca’s length and athleticism will be profound on defense in shutting down the opposing teams best scorer on a nightly basis, something Harding was asked to do but often just didn’t have the overall athleticism to do. Knight does have that physical presence and chops to get after it.
Also Seneca gives us a go to scorer when we need to get to the rim late in games. Gideon will be like a sponge learning from him. If we can hold our own on the boards this year, we have the balance on defense and offense to match up with anybody.
I love how coach Pope fills out a roster with transfer help. We are going to be exciting once again.
