The hiring manager didn’t once contact me and ask about said employee. I was prepared to be honest and upfront.
Now, about 3-4 months later, the hiring manager is coming to me complaining and asking if I’ve dealt with the issues he’s having. I’ve decided to just answer his questions without divulging any more information than he’s asking for.
All I can do is smile. He had his chance to ask me when he was hiring my old employee but he didn’t. His loss.
Best part is this employee’s replacement is now one of my best reps.
