If BYU were the perfect candidate, and still passed over, you could claim it was due to religion. But we aren’t. We are a tier II research university that is lacking post-graduate degree options. The PAC12 can always point to that instead.

If BYU adds another research program, like a medical school, that all changes. Medical schools are pricy, and I don’t see BYU fans donating enough for one.
