Actually, I think the worst part of the deal was we only got the No. 6 pick. We are the only expansion team in 30 years that wasn't given a top three pick. Seattle will be picking second.

We would be even better had we gotten the third pick. We could have had Makar, Pettersson or Heiskenen.

We did just flip that sixth pick (Cody Glass) into the guy who was taken second (Nolan Patrick) in a "change of scenery" trade, so maybe we still will be able to get a top-3 talent out of that draft if Patrick ever figures things out.
