there are some very good players.  Italy benefited here from one spot being fully allocated to champions of Europe/Africa.  That spot almost assuredly would have been gobbled up by a Latin American team. 

I played coed with a woman from the Venezuelan national team--even 15 years after retirement, she was GOOD.
