Couldn't have asked for a better FIL.
Coming to hear to just vent a little.

My sweet father in law passed a couple hours ago. He's been in a battle with covid and it effects for over a month now. His lungs just ended up too scarred to do take in oxygen and his body couldn't get rid of the CO2. He went into septic shock at one point and had his heart stop too. Ultimately his body couldn't just overcome it.

I'm sad that he's gone. He truly was an incredible man who strived to always do what was right. He was only 60 and taken far too soon for our liking.

Pro tip if you have a loved one admitted to the hospital. Take their belongings. Somewhere between being admitted to the hospital and being transferred to the ICU all of his belongings (phone, wallet, clothes, bag) along with my MIL's airpods went "missing". My MIL filed a police report and her AirPods were recovered the next day at a pawn shop. I just can't believe the type of person who'd steal from someone, let alone in this situation. Now my mother in law will never have what was on his phone. And that makes me so sad.
