Sorry for your loss. I, too, have been blessed with great in-laws. We lost my MIL to cancer 4 years ago at the age
of 55. I come from a good home and supportive family, and my MIL still took me under her wing and wanted to be a motherly figure to me. Very supportive, never stepped on our toes, and was always there when we needed her.

It was hard to witness my wife having to lose her mom at a young age. My wife became a mom after losing her own mom, and she still has struggles with not having her mom to go to about things and regularly thinks about the earthly relationship our boys are missing out on with her mom.

My FIL has since remarried to another great lady that my wife has a very good relationship with - we have heard the horror stories and know how fortunate we are. Considering the circumstances, I have hit the jackpot with the family I come from and the family I married into.

Losing any of them will definitely leave a noticeable void.
