For a decade, I have listened more closely to the big 5 commissioners’ opening remarks in their respective media days. They usually outline their thinking/vision as a group.

This year, Sankey said that the single most important job for the NCAA was running post season tourneys and national championships,

He then proceeded to excoriate them for bungling the women’s BB tourney (weight room miscue).

He then complained about the time it took to conduct investigations and that the innocent usually bore more of the punishment than the guilty.

He essentially said that if the NCAA cannot be effective in their two areas of authority - enforcement and postseason tourneys and championships - it was time for a change.

That was the “ oh,oh” moment that convinced me that are closer to leaving.
