One small clarifiction. Utah was not added because the PAC 12 missed Texas.
Utah was added because there were 6 spots available in the pac. it was supposed to be Texas, TT, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Utah. Colorado jumped early to help swell the deal. But then the Texas legislature was about to pull another, " Not without my Baylor," so the pac12 pulled the trigger on adding Utah as a way keeping Baylor out.
Good for Utah, but don't forget it wasn't a love of Utah, but rather a hatred of Baylor, that got Utah it's spot.
