So pointing out in FAN-SIDE that Boysenberry State is at best on par...
...with SEVEN of the eight existing media markets means the Big 12 would want them?

Wait a moment here...

Have to catch my breath...

From laughing the area of my body between my legs and back off so hard I nearly lost consciousness.

I get that everyone here with a cousin in Idaho thinks Boise State is on par with any P5, ND and BYU academically...BUT THEY FREAK'N ARE NOT. STOP. IT'S EMBARRASSING HOW MANY COUGAR FANS THINK FOOTBALL IQ is the same as INSTITUTIONAL IQ.

Updates, Forbes has NOT ranked universities since 2019.

BYU is #95
UTAH is #187
FYI West Virginia has dropped from #413 just six years ago to #454.
Boise State has improved its ranking from #614 six years ago to #569

Other Academic contenders for spots in the B12 include:

South Florida #228
Central Florida #242
Colorado State #223
Houston #306
Cincinnati #313
Memphis #640
Tulane #106
UNLV #548
Nevada #349
SDSU #181
Wyoming #347
Utah State #445

Of note:

Memphis and Utah State have both dropped about 70-100 spots during the past decade.

UNLV is still 21 spots behind Boise State and many people believe the evaluation is way off, that UNLV is being penalized for being centered in Las Vegas. Reality check, it has a very fine group of special business schools, a fine law school, a very innovative School of Architecture and with Nevada, a very progressive and innovative School of Medicine that specializes in certain diseases and geriatrics. If the university was NOT located in Las Vegas, a city of 3 million, it would probably be ranked much higher.

SDSU ranks higher academically than the U of U.

So Fla, UCF and CSU all rank about where Utah ranked six years ago.

Houston and Cincinnati BOTH ranked in the 400's just six years ago.

Over in the SEC: Mississippi #401, and Miss State #432 have both dropped 50-80 spots in the last six-seven years. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt is #27, South Carolina is #201, Florida is #70, Georgia is #99, Alabama is #252, Auburn is #166, Tennessee #224 , Kentucky #308, Missouri #219, LSU #212, Texas A & M #103, (Note incoming Texas if real is #76 and Oklahoma is #188).

In the Big 12, Texas based colleges rank: Baylor #202, TCU #148, Texas Tech is at #311. For those of you who think the PAC would be interested in Oklahoma State as it is the only real AD AND Cultural fit without compromises, the Cowboys are at #358. Iowa State is at #211, KSU is #366, and Kansas is #260. How do those numbers compare to...

Stanford #2, Cal #13, USC #30, UCLA #38, Washington #64, Colorado #146, ASU #186, Utah #187, Oregon #191, Washington State, Arizona #218, #231, Oregon State #261

Over in the ACC we look at blue bloods like Duke #9, Notre Dame #18 (Olympic Sports Only), Virginia #33, Boston Collage #41, UNC #45, Wake Forest #56, Ga Tech #66, Miami #90, Virginia Tech #108, Clemson #134, NCSt #139, Pitt #144, Fla State #151, Syracuse #156, Louisville #431,

Now consider the ACC List. "One of these things is not like the other..."
And Louisville is why West Virginia thinks it has a chance. But I doubt it.

Other than geography, BYU at #90 with a ranked AD would be good anywhere.

Those of you who think these rankings do not matter are just not facing realities. The rankings mean everything to the vast majority of University Presidents, far more than Athletic Departments.
