I always tried to convince him, but he was never going to come to BYU. I don't think bronco had anything to do with that. He once showed me all the letters he had received from schools all over the country including all the big boys like Alabama and Ohio state. I think he was just looking for something more than what BYU could give him.

As a side note I'm surprised his brothers went to Utah. A few days after he committed to Stanford, a U of U beat writer came out and wrote some pretty nasty things about his mom saying that she was forcing him to go to Stanford. I was there when he read the article and he was ready to fight someone. Swore right then that he would never go to the U.
