BYU isn't a research institution, doesn't claim to be one, and probably shouldn'
t be one. That's fine. BYU's educational goal is focused on educating undergrads and it is excellent at that. That's why 90% of students go to college. The church has decided that educating undergrads is more important than discovering breakthroughs in physics or biology. Good. Focusing on educating people instead of making new discoveries is nothing to be embarrassed of, and BYU isn't embarrassed about it.
