soccer/futbol. I watched quite a few matches during the recent Euro Cup and Copa América. I also watched a replay of last Saturday's CONCACAF Gold Cup match between Mexico and Honduras. For soccer ignoramuses like me the flopping and faking of injuries is hard to understand, but it is obviously part of the game. Is that more of a Central/South America thing as opposed to Europe? There didn't seem to be so much of that watching the Euro Cup, but in the Copa it was seemingly non-stop. Also, the broadcast commentators seem to rarely if ever say anything about the flopping (or whatever the right term is in soccer). An exception was during the Mexico-Honduras match where the color guy pointed out a clear "acting job" by one of the players. At least in the NBA the TV crew will call a flop a flop and often even make fun of the poor attempts to draw fouls. Is that off-limits for some reason in soccer? I've got miles to go in getting more familiar with the game, the rules, the tactics, the styles of play, etc., and I still can't quite figure out offsides, but the game is definitely growing on me and I'm really starting to enjoy watching some EPL, Bundesliga and La Liga matches. But dang how come AFC Richmond is never on TV?
