You absolutely have to accept a Big12 invite if offered. Do all you can to get a seat at the P5 table for at least the next few years. Wait and see where chips fall in 2025 when media contracts officially expire. The “P5” as it is currently constituted likely won’t exist after that, but at least BYU will have it on the resume for the future landscape. Not the mention the relationships built with the other schools in that timeframe. Best case scenario from that point - BYU is included in a future mega conference. Worst case scenario - BYU falls back to independence, but that isn’t a bad fall back plan — BYU has shown the ability to make it work.
