When she realized she would be more of a detriment to her team than a help.
I think it became clear to her after her first vault. You can even hear her on the broadcast after her vault say something to the effect of “the problem is the rest of the meet, I don’t want to do something stupid.”
She didn’t trust herself. She didn’t want low scores to hurt her team. She knew they had a better chance to medal without her than with her on this particular day.
