There's no way I give up Luciano, Bart or Ramos for him though
If Giants fans have learned anything over the past 20 years, its that anything can happen in the MLB Postseason. Baseball is a fickle game, and everything has to fall right for even the best teams to win a World Series. The 90s Braves & 10s Dodgers are exhibit A & B of great teams not winning a bunch of titles. You can't mortgage your future for a single run with a two month rental. You make smaller moves to sure up weaknesses and build on the current momentum, then you see where the chips fall.

Just imagine giving up Bart to land Sherzer. Then the Giants lose in the Divisional Series anyway a la 2000. Having the best record, home field, etc. matters less in baseball than any other sport. But building a roster that will last puts you in a position to win a title for years, and that's all you can really ask for as a baseball fan.
