...promises to players to get them to transfer. I think they evolved that way because we didn't have an experienced PG running the show and instead tried to make do with a couple of combo guards. It's not a knock on the combo guards, it's just that good point guards make everybody else better. They're an extension of the coach on the floor and like the QB in football, it's the most important position on the court. We got a little spoiled with 4 yrs of TJ Haws.
TJ the senior PG was a lot better than TJ the freshman PG. I think we'll see a little better version of AB in his second year as the man if he's able to play more off the ball and Tejon Lucas is facilitating. It will be year 2 for a lot of the returning guys trying to run Pope's offense so I'm expecting to see guys a little quicker and more instinctive in making cuts without the ball and reading and reacting better to what their defender is doing.
