No, it’s the total over a 50 year period
They won more games from 1966-2016 than they did from 1970-2020.
Meaning they were 2 wins better from 1966-1970 than they were from 2016-2020

Surprising fact, since Kalani became head coach BYU has passed Texas and USC for

Too bad we were terrible before LaVell... We would be blue-bloods.

And USC has -2 wins during that span?

50 year span. Not 50 plus the next five

It’s a rolling 50 year period.

Not all wins are created equal.

Exactly. Strength of schedule matters more.

Which of BYU's wins was less equal?

To state obvious, beating Portland St < beating USC for a title

You can only beat the teams you play.

Weird, I don't see Utah on that list. Are they a flash in the pan?

So BYU was better from 2016-2020 than they were from 1966-1970?

And better than Texas and USC as well.

Because BYU was bad and USC was great from '66-70; not related to Sitake at all

2020 was quite helpful though...

An updated rolling 50 yr would put BYU at 430. Texas, would drop to 410, and FL

I don't like these kinds of comparisons because BYU

I don't see any other non-P5s on the list, not even Notre Dame, must count for

It says nothing more than BYU being the big fish in a little pond.
BlueFever

Bigger than all the other big fish in little ponds.
robin
7/29/21 12:24pm
Which means they belong on the Pond list, not the Lake list.
BlueFever

I think BYU has held their own when in the lake with the biggest fish.

Look, let's just get BYU into a Power conference and I'll be more than happy to
BlueFever

I don't think either of us are wrong.
robin

I'll agree with that. It goes back to this issue of BYU being an anomaly.

BYU didn’t win because we were a big fish.

I wish we had 11 more wins during the last decade.

Just means that from 2016 to 2019, BYU's wins in those four years were still...

So odd to see BYU in the middle of all those blue bloods

At the end of 2019 he was .500. Not exactly helping the winning percentage
