She more than likely needs her own personal malpractice liability insurance.
Also, not necessarily certain how the LLC will protect her much as a solo practitioner against malpractice. I’m sure it affords protection from business liabilities but that is not my area of expertise.
As for malpractice, It certainly would protect her if she had employees for their negligence, however if she is sued based on her own alleged wrongful conduct I doubt the LLC provides any protection.
Long story short, she should get her own personal liability insurance and an amount sufficient for protection. Most healthcare practitioners have $1 million in insurance. I’ve only seen more its its provided by a large employer.
That’s how I have seen it done in the hundreds of lawsuits I have participated in at least.
